SUMMARY:Wilderness Warriors: Spring 2026 Camp Out
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun adventure at Camp Allegheny. We are still working out the details but we will meet up Saturday. Saturday afternoon we will play some “barbarian games”. That evening we will partake in a barbarian meal. No silverware and no manners 😝. \nFor anyone who feels up to it we will be staying in tents Saturday night. A pavilion is also included to cook and eat meals. George has several new tents that our group will be able to use\, so no excuses. Seriously though it may be chilly this time of year\, so no pressure to stay the night. Feel free to come and go during the activities on Saturday and Sunday. \nPlease RSVP a week or so ahead of time about what your plans will be so that I can give the Camp a headcount. \nOn Sunday morning\, we will have a short church service on our own. And on Sunday afternoon Camp Allegheny is hosting a free picnic and open house from 2:00-6:00. They will have many of their camp activities available for the boys to try. These include pony rides\, archery\, paddle boats\, a climbing wall and foam pit. I attached a flyer with some details. \nAgain if you can’t make it to the Saturday festivities still come on Sunday for the picnic and open house.

We would like to try to keep the boys together as a group to have some fun together. With that being said\, it is a public swimming area with lots of fun stuff to do so if the whole family wants to come and enjoy the day that is perfectly fine! \n\nWilderness Warriors: End-of-Summer Swim & Paddle!\nJoin the Wilderness Warriors for our final summer gathering! We are putting our regular lessons on hold for an afternoon of pure fun\, sun\, and splashing at the beautiful Quemahoning Family Recreation Area. \nEvent Details\n\nTime: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Note: This is one hour earlier than our usual meeting time!)\nLocation: Quemahoning Family Recreation Area\nCost: $5 per vehicle (Please bring cash for parking)\n\nWhat to Expect\n\nBeach & Swimming: The “Que” features a fantastic sandy beach and a swimming area that slopes gradually from shallow to deeper water\, making it great for all swim levels.\nBoating Adventures: We will have two kayaks and a canoe available\, complete with lifejackets! Younger Warriors can ride in the canoe with an adult chaperone\, while older boys can paddle the kayaks around the outside of the swim area.\nExtra Fun: When the boys aren’t in the water\, they can build sandcastles\, explore the nearby playground\, or check out the fishing pier.\n\nWhat to Bring\n\nTowels and swimwear\nSunscreen (Please apply before arriving)\nFloaties or puddle jumpers (If your child needs them)\n$5 cash for the park entry fee\nYour own canoe or kayak (Optional\, if you’d like to bring your own!)\n\nImportant Safety & Logistics Notes\n\nSupervision: This is a public swimming area with no lifeguard on duty. We kick things off Friday evening around the campfire. On Saturday morning\, the crew gets to work on shelter building\, leading directly into a shelter building contest—and potentially a run on the ropes course. Saturday evening features targeted mini stations where returning boys can earn survival kit items from meetings missed last year\, while newer members get caught up on assembling their survival kits. Stay tuned for the final schedule\, but prepare for a weekend centered on practical outdoor skills and teamwork.
